Round here you have to pick your time. Either pick your time or get used to hiking in the rain.
That’s what it’s like when you live under a mountain.
I’ve often wondered if it might be a better idea to move further South here in the Lower Mainland. Maybe to the delta of the river where it’s sunnier. But then I might miss the mountains so I pick my time.

Today C and I hiked up to the Baden Powell trail and headed up into the mountains. We came to get some fresh air and a workout.

Crystal clear streams. View out over the city. Best idea ever. 😀

I too prefer the mountains nearby – lovely photos and I can almost smell the scent of the woods.

I know what you mean about rain when you live under a mountain, we are the same here. But you can’t beat it for it’s beauty. Your photos are beautiful, I love all the textures.

I had an old relative (long dead now) who was named Baden Powell in the Old Scout’s honour. By gawd, my family was as colonial as they came.

Oh Veronica, these are such inspiring images from your mountain hike in the rain.
At one with nature in all her glory, ferns, moss and lichens on the rocks – beautiful.
If you only walked on the fine days you would miss the beauty you’ve photographed today!
    I love this post!
Stay in the mountains, please – for now!
    Warm hugs
