Welcome to our haunted house.
Well, maybe not so haunted. I must admit that the garden is beautiful right now and I am resisting raking the leaves up because it’s my little piece of autumn glory,
But it’s been too impossibly busy today to rake leaves.
Boys had to be helped with make up, quick snacks had to be eaten,
Ragamuffin homemade crows had to be coaxed above doors,
And hoodies painted in Zef style.
And then, all is ready. Our resident Zef girl Chlo-landi Visser takes her Halloween leave,
And I have time for a quick glass of something deeply red and a half hour dedicated to a little art.
A bat, just waking up, ready to fly off the folk requiem page.
And me, I shall stay up reasonably late in my haunted house, with one of my favourite Halloween books.
But first, please excuse me, I must rush off. I seem to have some
victims children at the door.
Chloe makes an excellent Yo-landi! I still smile when I see people on the other side of the world talk about Die Antwoord 🙂
And you are one sexy witch mama!
I need to post our Halloween pics now …
You won’t believe it Molly, but about 6 years ago, a friend, who is a frequent South African traveller, asked me to write a review of Die Antwoord for a magazine publication, and that’s how Chloe found out about them. Then, about four years ago, C took up climbing and her partner in the course was a SA girl, who lives in the same area and goes to yoga with Yolandi! Anyway, two Vancouver D A concerts later and the Zef is strong in that one! Small global village, isn’t it?
I love this! I used to move in the same circles as Ninja when he was just a struggling muso in Cape Town many years ago – he always had such a unique style. They’re so weird and we’re very proud of them!
Awesome!!!! Looks like you guys really get onto it there. Love all the photos, but that last one of the”witch” (te-he) has the perfect prop peering out the window.. What a gorgeous cat !!
Thank you so much Kathleen. Yes, Morgan is a chocolate box cat, and she knows it. But both the cats turned into bowls of jello at the fireworks outside and slept either pressed up against me or under the bed all night!
you make a charming Morticia!
Lol, thank you. I sent the photos to R with the caption, “don’t torture yourself, that’s my job!” 😀
What a gorgeous post! Oh look at your girls … fabulous! Love the bat painting .. clever girl!!! 😀
It was so nice to sit down to an hour of art! So satisfying for me. I think I have to make work a priority again. 😀
Thank you for sharing your Halloween. Love your dress!
