Helping to save the world one blue tree at a time
Blue trees! A round the world installation to raise awareness about deforestation. It’s a treat to live in this forest rich country of mine, and sometimes I don’t see the forest for the trees…you know what I mean? It’s a treat to be able to participate in a little creative harmlessness and paint trees blue. The dye will last a few months in our climate, the trees will be planted and thrive, and people might take notice and remember to conserve, recycle and help do their part in saving the Earth.
Sharing with the WordPress bunch and the photo challenge of treat.

I learned something new today—blue trees—I was expecting something along the lines of Blue Spruce. Thanks for the post.
Hi Allan, yes, I learned something new too! Now I want to paint all my garden trees blue! 😀
What an enjoyable day that must have been.
Yes, so much fun Janet! How often does one get to paint a tree? 😀
Wonderfully fun, creative and good for the planet. Happy thing to do 😀
Thank you Carol. I noticed that everyone there was full of smiles. 😀
Yes indeed. 🙂
So clever and beautiful too! I love it <3
Thank you so much. Very worth the effort I thought. 😀
trees are lovely in blue
so interesting that they will thrive
i would have thought the paint was not good for them
glad to know they will grow
Me too Tammie, but it’s not paint. It’s ground azurite, a completely inert mineral, and water. Also, in our climate, it’ll wash off in a matter of months. I love the blue; it’s just so velvety and striking, and a good way to remind us that trees are actually the lungs of the world. 😀
Nice story, Veronica.
Thank you Stafano. Good to raise awareness too. 😀
Powerful image. It makes a striking composition.
Thank you so much 😀
These blue trees are magical, like theater props, great way to raise awareness! Good to know no harm is done to them!
Hello Szuzsa, I thought that they are magical too. And that’s right, that paint is only mineral pigment and water and completely safe for the tree. 😀
what a fabulous idea!
I thought so too! Bet the blue trees make it out to NY!
What a great thing to do!
Don’t you love it when you can make a difference? At least a little tiny bit. Wish there were public awareness art opportunities like that all the time. 😀
