Leaf tea

It’s so beautiful out on the patio overlooking the shade garden.

That part of the garden is under the canopy of my two beautiful maples and their leaves have been falling everywhere.

I have a leaf carpet and tablecloth. What could be lovelier.

I decided to try to tempt Chloe out for a cup of tea but she feels nervous and a bit out of sorts because she has to write her last midterm this afternoon.

So I’ve set the table with this lovely Delphine rose hip cup for me. You can’t feel it thru the computer but the paint raises the rose hips in a relief. It’s really pretty. I love art deco type designs.

And with this little modern cup for C. It’s by Burton and Burton and features playful monkeys…which was C’s nickname when she was little.

But in the end, the soft sunshine, the hot tea and a little personal pumpkin pie won out and she grabbed the blanket from the living room and came out for a little lunch.

C tea 1

We only shared a few minutes out on the patio but long enough to relax a little and talk out some pesky business management questions. (C wants to know why she needs to take business management and learn to think like a project manager for her CMNS degree.)

my cup

As usual, being the girly girl, Morgan wanted to be part of the tea, but more to the point, she wanted a piece of apple and a piece of cheese. This chocolate box cat loves fruit. I dropped a piece of mango on the floor and she pounced on it and now is crazy for any fruit, especially avocados.

We had the loveliest few minutes and now C is off to write her test. She’ll be feeling loads better after.

Sharing with Teri and Martha and Sandi and Kathy, and sending much love and sympathy to my friend Bernideen who needs her family right now.

Now isn’t that the most lovely tea in your carpet of Fall leaves??!! I’m sure Chloe felt much better after sipping some tea from her pretty cup.

What beautiful colors – how can that not enhance the flavor of the tea? And I bet the companionship was even better!

This is absolutely lovely. Oh, what a wonder it would be to sit at such a festive table. I have only begun collecting tea cups because of my daughters – ages 21 and 16. Now we’re getting pretty close to living in the eclectic cottage style… but not many trees around with colored leaves. Central California does not have many. Enjoy them… and more… I can see you revel in each moment. Brava! Glad I found you via the Ultimate Blog Challenge today!

Veronica – what a grand teatime outside with all those festive leaves! I would never think to deck the tablescape with them – but I actually FELT the whole crispness of your teatime – and the sunshine at just the right time of day for your photos. Bravo! That pumpkin pie looked the thing, too! Best to your lovely girl on her test.
    Joy!

Your tea sounds lovely. I would have liked to have been there in person.

Your tidbit about Morgan gave me a chuckle, too.

Veronica, I love your tea cups and the lunch looks wonderful, especially the pie! I’m glad Miss C came out for a change from nose in the books. That should be helpful for her. I love the fallen leaves around and think it’s a crime to clean them up too soon, much different from my husband’s way of thinking..Happy Tuesday..Judy

    Hi Veronica,

Well, you’ve certainly given new meaning to ‘tea leaves’! Your naturally set table shines with the season’s splendour of fiery foliage, softly fallen and laid out for your feast! How I wish I could have joined you in this most cozy gathering!

    Good morning Veronica,
What a lovely tea time amidst the beautiful fallen leaves! That monkey teacup is adorable. I could go for a personal pumpkin pie about now too with a hot cuppa tea. Very pretty setting! As always, it’s a pleasure to have you join me for tea. Enjoy your week.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

Your fall table is inspired! The best part is the luring of C out to take a few minutes rest. Good for her! I have a daughter in university as well, and she works too. Learning all about the adult world amidst challenging classes is worthy of a good cup of tea to restore and renew.
Your tea cups are wonderful too : )
    Hugs,
