Matchbox, Eric’s drawing challenge
Whew! This took a little time. π
Eric called for this lovely drawing challenge. He chose “Matchbox” and I tried to think outside the (Match) box.
I took to my silversmithing studio to craft out a few gem rings which can be stacked like matches.
Then, find one vintage matchbox and…
… π here we go!
Much nicer stacked on fingers though.
Come pop over to Eric’s site for more matchbox art.
Rings: sterling silver with oval bezels for these cabochons: Amber, yellow jade, green jade, coral and howlite.
PS, six more rings to go. π

This is magic:)… and wonderful rings. Thanks for joining. – eric

Thank you so much Eric. π
Molly
Ooooo, love stackable rings and these are gorgeous. That howlite one is really beautiful!
Veronica
Thank you so much Molly. So many people have commented on the howlite. It really seems to be an unusual type of stone which almost looks like bone. Tell you what, my mom bought Chloe a carved pendant for Xmas. It’s a sitka spruce carved into an ethically sourced piece of prehistoric mastodon tusk, and the tusk looks very much like the howlite stone. Think I might use more of it in the future. π

Veronica you are brilliant!! Love your thoughts and your rings. I’m so impressed at how you’ve become an amazing jeweler as well π
Veronica
Aw, thank you so much Sara. These simpler rings are making me feel like it’s a bit less amateur hour round here…lol…but don’t look too closely just yet. π
