Matchbox, Eric’s drawing challenge

January 11, 2015

Whew! This took a little time. πŸ˜€

Eric called for this lovely drawing challenge. He chose “Matchbox” and I tried to think outside the (Match) box.

I took to my silversmithing studio to craft out a few gem rings which can be stacked like matches.

Then, find one vintage matchbox and…

Ooooo, love stackable rings and these are gorgeous. That howlite one is really beautiful!

    • Reply Veronica January 13, 2015 at 8:40 am

Thank you so much Molly. So many people have commented on the howlite. It really seems to be an unusual type of stone which almost looks like bone. Tell you what, my mom bought Chloe a carved pendant for Xmas. It’s a sitka spruce carved into an ethically sourced piece of prehistoric mastodon tusk, and the tusk looks very much like the howlite stone. Think I might use more of it in the future. πŸ˜€
