Summer…my birthday and RBG Kew…and Tuesday Tryouts
Summer Tryouts — It Must Be Tuesday. This week Margo suggests I find an image and write a poem. The image is to say summer to me.
One image?!? Me? Seriously?
Oh ok: Here goes:
In summer is my birthday, I’m traditionally in England and I traditionally get a lovely day at Royal Botanical Garden Kew. But wait, it gets better!
There are friends, family and a big chocolate cake for afters.
The Day of Roses
The day of roses
Breaks with a rosy dawn
That casts a pink carpet
Across my path
Fills the air with silent music
Drifts among the petals
Heavy with memories
And heavenly scent
Sends sweet scents
To the depth of my soul
Capturing my heart
Till all I can see are roses
Like welcoming arms
Smiling with the glow of recognition
And the dusk cradles my heart
In its rosy hand
Oh, you knew I couldn’t stop at one image…didn’t you 😉
Ok, ok, I’ll stop.
Esther Bradley-DeTally
Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, my gosh, the photographs were life enhancing.

Oh Esther, thank you so much. Mgs me or email me your addy and I’ll send you a selection of my greeting cards based on some of my images…with fractals. (feel free to use the photos if they’re of any use or inspiration)
Lori (Lara Britt) Sailiata
Happy Birthday! Kew Gardens…it’s been more than a moment since I was there. Enjoy your summer in BC. I posted about your postcard yesterday at my site. http://larabritt.com/2012/06/26/youve-got-mail/ Seems as if you have started a postcarding stampede!
Veronica
Oh no Lori! Well, actually good, I love sending postcards. I’ll send you more from the UK; leaving in a few days time. Will head over to your site later today and have a look. Thank you for posting about the card. 🙂

I haven’t been to Kew Gardens in ages, but remember it well. Some day, again. I like the structure of the poem, love the starting with dawn ending with dusk. ‘And the dusk cradles my heart” — so lovely.
See. You can stick with one image, sort of. You tied all the imagery to your central image!
Veronica
I tried Margo, but I’m such a show-off…lol. Thank you for the analysis; it’s really helpful for me to read it. 🙂
Sharp Little Pencil
Hey, Veronica, found you at Margo’s. Don’t stop posting these beauties on my account! I’m lucky if I can grow parsley… so this is a visual feast, truly. Thank you for sharing the best thing about summer… the flowers. Mine is about the second-best thing… (wink) Amy Barlow Liberatore

Morning Glories, how long has it been since I’ve seen you? Fills the air with silent music…wow, I’m wrapping my mind around that. But I totally get heavy with memories.
