Armageddon skies and painting the magpie part 2

I managed to mangle a second video edition of painting the magpie!

Maybe my contraption of 5 books and a branch for iPhone propping up isn’t ideal, and maybe I need to think harder about moving photos and videos off the memory before the memory fills up and the phone stops videoing, but hey, there’s a kitten. 😀

Before I get to the video I wanted to show you this:
The Oxfordshire sunset and the Armageddon skies.
Robbie came in to tell me there’s a beautiful sunset about to happen, and so I walked out to the meadow and stood there for a while.

I stood there until way past sunset and a fat pheasant landed in the willow above me and squaked his head off at another one across the meadow.

But here is the second instalment of the magpie. It’s a bit long. I hope you like it and I don’t blame you one bit for skipping thru it. 😀

I just wanted you to know how informative, helpful and inspiring I found the videos! It is fascinating to see a picture emerge in real time while listening to your comments as you make decisions about its progress. I have returned to painting after a gap of many years and really enjoy your daily blogs posts . They are not only useful for technique but act as the perfect prompt to remind me that I need to do what I love. Wishing you a very merry Christmas and happy new year from Norfolk, England!

Thank you for replying! I don’t as yet, but I am collecting work together in readiness and aim to get it done in the new year. So much has changed in my “gap” – I used to send slides to galleries but now it is so much easier to get work “out there”. Now I have written this, I had better do it!:)

No, sadly I don’t! Something else to add to the “to-do” list…although I am a little nervous of it. I promise to let you see my stuff though as soon as I get sorted.

That is a breath-taking sky. And its always so wonderful when artists share their process with others, thank you for doing so.

I really really enjoyed this longer session. I could watch you paint all day. The magpie is coming along beautifully and I almost expect him to start singing. I hope you do a lot more of your paintings.

I love seeing you painting….you could do that every day and I would watch every single second(maybe twice).
