First lunch al fresco…with sunshine!
This week Chloe and I were optimistic about the weather and braved lunch out at the big rustic table. As she was still studying for her finals, C’s readings came for lunch too. Actually, lunch is a great time for us to discuss concepts and ideologies C is having problems understanding.
Finals days require brain food and I made us some crab stuffed salmon, for the omega 3’s,
fresh spinach leaves drizzled with the best balsamic vinegar, for iron and magnesium,
and a couple of artichokes because it’s such a joy to eat with our fingers.
This was such a good idea that now we want more meals outside. Come on sun! 🙂 Have you had meals outside already this year? I hear it snowed in Ontario yesterday. Honestly!?!

This looks wonderful! We have yet to do this.. Our temps are still chilly. We have an outdoor heating lamp that will assist in the transition:)

Hi Leslie, I’d love an outdoor heating lamp. They’re always so cosy to sit under on restaurant patios. 🙂

What a great way to enjoy the sunshine. No outdoor meals yet, but hope springs eternal!

Hi Michelle. I hope you get loads of warm sunshiny days soon to make up for the long winter. 🙂

I love eating artichokes! That is a wonderful progression of shots and gorgeous china as always 🙂 We had dinner and breakfast outside a couple of weeks ago–it’s a wonderful thing
Veronica
Thank you Sara. That china is all different. One day I fell in love with the brown and pink and yellowness of a few pieces and before you know it…a sort of set happened. 🙂 It is a wonderful thing to be outside. I hope we get a lovely warm season. 🙂
Diane
I have never eaten artichoke, but we do eat on our screened in porch every chance we get. It’s just fun to eat outdoors for some reason.
Veronica
I saw your terrific screened porch on your lovely blog Diane. Food tastes better outside, doesn’t it? 🙂

We had lunch on the deck yesterday – and preparing to do so again today – oh how I love the warm spring sunshine.

Yay JoAnn, hooray for us Pacific Coasters. 🙂
