Got to find a new way to say randomness!
The weatherman was right! From blue sky to rain and overnight there’s maximum drippiness outside. But lovely and warm inside. ๐
I got in on my friend V’s tea exchange again this year and was paired with a lovely girl from Japan. Coco sent me some blueberry cassis tea wrapped in her handmade tote. I love the little embroidered coco beans. And that spectacular envelope is going to be the base for a new painting I think. So lovely to have good mail come to break up the monotony of hate mail (bills). We should all send tea and ephemera to each other as often as possible! The world would be a happier place. ๐
I’m about to have the furnace replaced in this old house and that means I’m going to lose this funky old thermostat for an ultra modern programmable whatsit because the mercury gizmo in this won’t work with the remote gizmo in that…blah, blah, blah. I’m so keeping this old retro thing and sticking it up somewhere else in the house.
Becca, a wonderful photographer/writer friend of mine and a co-Wordsmither, has threatened everyone with Disney princesses lol unless everyone steps up and helps design a new logo for the site. So I took some photographs and put them out there to be used anyway anyone would like. Becca’s been altering them so beautifully! I can’t believe how lovely those images look now. When the design is decided I’ll show you. ๐
I want to redecorate the whole house to make it look like autumn.
Linking with Nancy for Friday five. ๐ And reminding everyone of my giveaway.

Oh that thermostat is soooo wonderful! I think most of us have had one of those in our home during one decade or another. Honeywell? Gosh, are they even still around?
Veronica
I know Diane, hate to lose it but I’ve been told that I’ll lose some of the functionality associated with the new furnace. I have to think it out still because I’m not sure I need a programmable thermostat. Basically I just need it to turn on and turn off when I turn it on and turn it off! ๐

Your home looks so cozy! And I would love to send you some tea and mail art! Just email me an address and you can have some more happy mail! cabjuhasz(at)gmail(dot)com
Veronica
Great! Love it. Emailed you. X
Ida P. Krause
Thank you for stopping by my blog. I might not have found yours otherwise. You have a new follower!
Loved your dรฉcor, especially that cool looking snail. A nice hot cup of tea is perfect for rainy days. Also with some fresh baked cookies. It’s rainy here today.
Veronica
That’s lovely for me Ida, thank you so much. I’m afraid I’ve had several cups of tea today…lol. But I mostly drink decaffeinated stuff, so not to worry. ๐ Mmm, cookies…
Maggid
beautiful, Inviting Photographs . . . and, Fall looks lovely in your home.
Veronica
Aw thank you Maggid. ๐

How fun to do a tea exchange!
Veronica
I know Lisa. I wish it came around more often. ๐
Karen
The tea exchange sounds like fun – and rainy weather is perfect for some Autumn redecorating! Enjoy!
Veronica
Yes it is Karen. I think I’ll just take everything off the surfaces and start again. ๐

Everyone should send happy mail and everyone should receive some, too! I love to open the mailbox and see a decorated envelope or a squishy parcel. Makes the heart leap!
It is time for me to drag out the Fall decorations and my Halloween stuff, too. I love the snail in the top photo! I want to hold it and pet it. How weird does that sound, lol
Have a super fab weekend!!
~Dawn
Veronica
It doesn’t sound weird at all Dawn, I know just what you mean ๐ Oh yeah, Halloween is coming up. Last year I made those creepy life-sized children silent companions and I was thinking that maybe I should make a creepy life sized nanny to watch over them. ๐ฎ

Hey, we have the same lamp! And I am ready to convert the house to fall decor too.
Veronica
Do we Kathy? It gives off a beautiful amber light, doesn’t it?
Nancy Claeys
My mom has an old Honeywell thermostat in her house and the furnace guy always tells her to keep it as long as she can because they just don’t make them like that anymore. ๐
Love the goodies you received. You are so right — it is so fun to get this type of mail.
Veronica
I was talking to Robert about this and trying to decide if I really need a digital, programmable, remote LED thermostat which will do everything short of making coffee in the morning when all I want it to do is turn on and turn off, so I think I’ll try to keep it somehow. ๐ So true Nancy, so much fun to do swaps. We should do more of them. ๐
Beverly Larson
hmmm we got a new house with a new thermostat…. and I haven’t figured it out yet…
Veronica
Lol, Beverly, that’s so going to be me!
Daryl
well of course i had to google randomness to see what synonyms there were .. chance, casual, haphazard, desultory … ummmm … perhaps not
Veronica
I know! Arbitrary is the only synonym I’m sort of content with, which shows a certain lack of imagination.
Betty Manousos
oh, your home looks soo beautiful, veronica. and your photos make me always happy with their beauty nd charm.
you’re very talented with your camera.
Veronica
Thank you so much Betty, but don’t be impressed, I’ve had practice. I’ve been in the professional photography deep end for years. ๐
Jim
๐ Hi Veronica ~~ You did a good job in making your whole house look like Autumn. I don’t envy you in replacing yotur furnace. We had to replace air conditioners but the furnace parts stayed. So it all just slid in.
Sorry I am so late in returning your comment. But now, even late, it was well worth my coming.
..
Veronica
Hi Jim, thank you so much for visiting. It’s awfully lovely of you to do so. I hope the new furnace will just slide into the space too. It’s an old house and the space is a little limiting, but it’ll probably be just fine. ๐
Sara v
So Cozy!! I love it. What a wonderful exchange to join, tea is much better than bills ๐
Veronica
So, so much better…lol ๐
