Home again Vancouver
Walking around the house at 2am.
Yup, jet-lag. 🙂 Eventually I’ll sleep. 🙂
But it’s all so beautiful and peaceful at 2am. Here, we have street lights so there is always a gentle glow outside. I miss the beautiful intense darkness of West Cottage but it’s lovely to sit in the living room at night and look out of the window.
There’s raccoons!
In the morning there’s bed ferrets!
Hello Milo my boy!
Although there’s rain in the forecast for the next two days, there’s a little sun peeking thru the clouds here and there.
The breaks in the clouds gave me a chance to get some tomatoes from the garden. I thought I’d go get the ripe ones and some basil and make a salad for lunch, but I wasn’t expecting this many fresh ripe tomatoes.
This one’s for my salad and the rest will probably end up in a lovely fresh sauce or salsa or something yummy.

Welcome Back Veronica!! Really, you should be a food artist–wait! you are a food artist 🙂 You are making me so hungry/jealous with all those beautiful homegrown tomatoes (LOVE them!). Enjoy all their juicy tart earthy sweetness, for you and for me 😉 Hugs to Milo (he is soooo cute!)

Oh yes… that is a lot of tomatoes. We barely had that many all summer this year, was a very bad year for tomatoes here.
Martha
Welcome back Veronica! Your vacation looked wonderful. You got a lot of tomatoes. I only had about 10 total. Blessings, Martha

oh Milo is lovely and so is your home – love that wooden floor? do you have someone take care of your home and cat while you are gone? Oh and your veggie garden – those tomatoes look yummy!
Veronica
Thank so much Africanaussie. 🙂 That floor has been such a headache and a half but I think we’re in the home stretch with the renos now! Yay! Chloe, my 21yr old is…well…21 and good at it, and is old enough to say no to me dragging her to Europe in all free time, so she is in Vancouver at the house most summers. She’s an angel and keeps the garden going for me…and herself, she loved the peas and lettuces earlier and now is loving the tomatoes. 🙂
Christie
Wow, I’m impressed that you can come home from being across the pond and find such wonderful tomatoes in your garden!! You must have garden fairies or gnomes at work for you while you are gone. 🙂
Veronica
🙂 Christie, I have a fairy gnome named Chloe who waters the garden in my absence, but before I go I try to make it as bullet proof as possible.
Daryl
oh i bet milo is thrilled to have you home .. and those tomatoes .. ohhhhhh yum …
Veronica
Milo is a little hesitant still. He’s the shy one, but Morgan is going, “Oh, good you’re home, I’m going to sit on you!” 🙂

Veronica
Oh thank you Michelle. 🙂 I’m so glad you like reading my adventures. 🙂
