A soft Sunday morning
How’s this for a perfect Sunday morning:
The sun is shining! 😀
I know, it doesn’t take a lot to make me happy, but last time I checked, the forecast was unrelenting rain for days. So, while we know that the weathermen lie like a rug round here, this unexpected little reprieve just made our day. But actually there’s so much more to love on this Sunday. That extra daylight hour is so welcome and it means that Robert and I don’t have to scramble to accommodate each other’s schedule any more because our countries are back in sync. (British clocks went back a week ago)
So most lovely Sunday morning, and, I suspect I’m not the only one enjoying my morning. Check out Diane and Julie’s lovely mornings. 🙂 Love these gals.
I’ve fed the cats and Milo wanted out again. Can’t blame him. Morgan ran to the living room window to sit in the sunshine…or so you may think.
Do you see those smudges on the window? Well, they’re at Milo nose height. Yup, nose prints…and you should see the dirty fur smudges on the sill.
Morgan loves to lay in wait for Mo and does her best to scare him away. Never works but she tries it on every time.
When I lower the blinds and that sun comes into my bedroom it’s just so magical. I’m ever so grateful for my selfish Sunday habit of hanging out in bed with my tea and book, newspaper or lap top. Usually, after they’ve got their yahoos out running around the house, one of the cats will come for a cuddle too.
Chloe came in when she woke up and the first thing she said was, “It’s sunny!” and then cuddled on the bed for a few more minutes. We chatted and had a lovely time, and then I finished my first cup of tea and it was time for a second cup and C was ready for some tea too.
So we got up and made some more. How was your Sunday morning? Do you have lovely Sunday mornings? I hope you do. Do you look forward to them as much as I do?
The Presents of Presence
What a lovely way to start the day! Enjoy your special Sunday! 🙂
Veronica
Thank you so much, and lovely to meet you thru Nano. 🙂
Sojourner Williams
I so enjoyed my extra hour of rest this morning. I’m just getting over a cold so it was perfect timing. Loved your pictures 🙂
Veronica
Hi Sojourner. I hate colds so I hope your’s just goes away. That extra hour is so welcome, isn’t it? I’m so glad you left me your addy because now I can come visit you. 🙂
Dewena Callis
Your Chloe is beautiful and as graceful as a cat stretching and relaxing this Sunday morning with you. And I love the paintings on your walls!
Veronica
Aw, thank you Dewena. 🙂 Those paintings are my most precious ones collected at special times or from special places. I love waking up to them. 🙂
Nadya
What a lovely home!
I was super blessed to have all SIX of my GrandDarlings around this morning! My son & Daughter both attended parties with their respective spouses, so I hung out with them at my Daughter’s last night, & the kids have SO MUCH FUN!!
This morning was a bit hectic, getting everyone fed, but Grammie got some lounge time, too!
Veronica
That’s so wonderful Nadya. You lucky girl! I haven’t seen our babies for a few months now. It’s really hectic with them around, isn’t it? But lovely at the same time. 🙂

i woke, opened one eye looked at the clock .. decided to go back to sleep … an hour later i got up, read the paper, took a shower, had some coffee .. looked at the time on the computer and went AAAARRGH .. it was 8:30 .. my bedroom clock hadn’t switched over by itself .. of course it didn’t and neither my husband nor i thought to do it last nite … i feel so cheated … but its a lovely albeit chilly day here in sunny NYC …
Veronica
Oh no! Lol, only I probably shouldn’t be laughing. I know the feeling! It works better for me to use the iPhone. Was it chilly? We had the first frost this morning and there is fresh snow on the mountains. 🙂
Cozy Little House
Enjoyed the kitty at the window activity!
Brenda
Veronica
Hi Brenda, I’m so glad you like those silly cats of mine. Such characters. 🙂
Diane
Sunday mornings have a softness about them, don’t they. Even the light through the windows is softer on Sundays. Xox.
Veronica
They do Diane. 🙂 Now all i really missed was Robert here making me a lovely breakfast. 🙂 XO

Hi, I’m visiting from your blog the ‘yeah write’ NaBloPoMo grid! It sounds like you had a good Sunday morning. The photos are really nice! I’m from the UK and liked it last Sunday, when the clocks went back. I was away and was staying with a friend for the weekend, and it felt like we had been given an extra hour to hang out! Hope you have a good week 🙂
Veronica
Hi Catherine. 🙂 I’m in the UK for part of the year. OXON. That’s what Robert was saying; like a little gift. Lovely for you to be with a friend and having that extra hour. Hope you have a good week too. 🙂

Lovely!! The post, the house, the kitties, and Chloe (of course) 🙂
… does that phone on the dresser actually work? 🙂
Veronica
It does! All one needs is a adapter which costs $11. there are three of them here and all have the potential for working but not all are plugged in at the same time because the ring is something extraordinary. They were my father’s and came from England where they probably summoned the butler from clear across the mansion! Boy they’re loud. 🙂

Veronica, I am a HUGE fan of lazy sunday mornings. We always have a big (late) breakfast, read the paper, share the comics, and of course now the electronic tablets to catch up on Google+ or whatever, it is always slow, relaxing and yummy. So happy that you have such a lovely ritual too–forgot to mention the dogs at our feet hoping for a little treat….:-) I looked at the other links–and they were quite nice, but nothing like your wonderful morning light photos, always so nice to visit you 🙂

I love Sunday mornings, waking up slow and really just enjoying the morning. And it’s Sunday Funday so I look forward to the whole day!
