Spring is in the air
There’s such an immediate rush to right now. Like things can’t wait another second longer. It could be because spring has sprung and everything is flying, springing, greening, swimming, hopping and generally rushing head long into the season, or it could just be me.
On this wonderfully perfect first day of spring we opened all the doors and windows and let the house freshen a little.
The mailman brought a sweet and most welcome letter from my pen pall Laurel. I love good mail!
My cats are going a bit crazy. Morgan is hissing at Milo or at us if she doesn’t like something, and generally being a miserable cat form hell and Milo seems to have two settings these days: dead to the world under a blanket or running up the walls, tearing thru the house and jumping out of windows just for fun. He does this thing where he jumps out the window, runs around to the back door, runs thru the house to the open window and jumps out again. And he’ll do that over and over and over. What’s all that about?
I got the most beautiful bouquet of flowers as a gift from some friends who came for supper. It’s so giant and so fragrant, and has roses and orchids and hyacinths and proteas and all sorts of beautiful things. I’m feeling so lucky.
Actually, I love the flowers so much I’ve been moving them from room to room with me.
I’m leaving in three days and so will enjoy them every second of every day before I go.
Sharing with Nancy and looking forward to everyone’s random days. 😀
Patty
Your photos are beautiful. I enjoy receiving flowers and mail so much too. I imagine your friends really enjoyed spending time with you.
Veronica
Thank you so much Patty. It’s so true; I wonder why we don’t all write to each other. It’s so lovely to be remembered and sent mail. 🙂
abrianna
I can see why you bring them from room to room with you. My kitty has his crazy moments too lately…spring fever?
Veronica
I bet that’s the case alright! 😀
Mascha
The cats feel the spring (I also have a cat from hell – ) and the photo is so funny!
Wonderful flowers and I like to get real letters…
Have a great travel
Veronica
Thank you Mascha. I’m sorry for you for having a cat from hell too…lol. We can compare cat stories. 😀

Beautiful light!! <3

Veronica
Thank you so much. 😀
Hootin' Anni
I think I’d be moving the bouquet around with me too…VERY pretty!
And the cat in the box…what a hoot! Sounds like the fur babies are feeling chipper ’cause Spring has arrived?!!! I’d love to watch this antic of window jumping …to house…and back to window.
Veronica
He’s just crazy Anni. Teenagers…eh? Morgan, on the other hand, is being such a sour puss. Well, they’ll settle down eventually. 😀
The Forgotten
Your kitty is so sweet. Awww, seeing that letter from your pen pal makes me want to write letters to some of my friends. I still write to my pen pal from high school, over 40 years now.
Veronica
Oh wow, that’s amazing! Really a treasure. I moved too much, and often from country to country, so don’t have school pen pals, or other childhood friendships, but would have loved that. 😀
Deb @ Frugal Little Bungalow
The flowers are stunning! Your cat must have spring fever for sure…I had to laugh at his antics 🙂
Veronica
Oh Debra, I was standing in the dining room and he comes tearing by, drifting thru the corners, and the next thing I know, he’s tearing by again! Teenagers…eh?

Oh those flowers are truly beautiful. Sounds like Morgon and Milo have spring fever:) Oh I love handwritten letters in the mail. Enjoy your trip. B
Veronica
Thank you so much. Wish I had cat aspirins for the spring fever! 😀
sarahhuizenga
A pen pal, how fun!
Veronica
So true Sarah. Especially since mostly these days my pen pals send me little drawings or stamps in their letters and decorated envelopes…each letter, no matter how short or long, is such a little post jewel.
dawnsrays
Your bouquet is beautiful, I think I would take it from room to room with me too!! nothing says they have to stay put, right?
Our cats have been up to tricks lately too! how weird is that. Must be a cat moon or something.
Happy Spring!! I’m getting giddy at the prospect of future warmer temps.
Peace~
Dawn
Veronica
Oh, Dawn, I was so happy to turn the central air off and open all the windows and doors yesterday. I can’t even describe the giddiness at having that spring breeze blow thru the house. Amazing. 😀
Robyn
Happy Spring to you, Veronica!
Your flowers are colorful and cheerful. Hope you have a wonderful trip.
It’s fun to get a surprise card or letter in the mail. That always makes my day better.
Veronica
Hi Robyn, Happy spring to you too. 😀 I agree, people should write more often and to more people.
The Presents of Presence
Such beautiful flowers, truly! I would be doing the same thing! I love that you have a penpal as well. There is much to be said in sending cards through the mail. It’s a lost treasured artform.
Veronica
I feel the same way. At times I’ve been part of small good mail clubs, but I love getting to know someone thru snail mail. 🙂
Karen, Pixel Posts
Beautiful blooms! I move my flowers from room to room too!
Veronica
Oh good, I feel a kindred spirit here. 🙂
Robin
Those flowers are lovely! Orchids are my favorite, but they are so tricky to care for.
Maybe the change in season/temperature is getting to the cats? My dogs are acting a little weird, too.
Veronica
Hello Robin, my new friend. Your dogs too..huh? Must be the season. You know what? I throw my orchids out on the patio in the semi shade of the maple trees from April to late Sept and ignore them and they tend to re-bloom. No idea what that’s all about. 🙂
Ida P. Krause
We had a lovely 1st Day of spring here too but it’s still a bit chilly for window opening just yet.
So funny about your cats. Especially the one that jumps out the window and then runs back in to do it all over again. Ours are strictly “indoor” cats but some occasionally sneak out the door and oh what fun they have until we haul them back inside again. – Wow that is one gorgeous bouquet your friends brought over.
Veronica
Hi Ida, we had these cats indoors for their first year and oh the freedom they found when they were allowed out! Hope your week is a warmer one so the snow melts. 😀
diane
What a lovely bouquet of flowers … I can see why you are taking them from room to room to enjoy!
Have a great weekend!
diane @ thoughts and shots
Veronica
Thank you so much Diane. I’ve had to leave them now, but have a terrific amount of photos. 😀
Andrea @ From The Sol
Oh the fresh air of Spring … infects everyone including the cats. Sounds to wonderful even though I am still waiting. Our birds are returning but the lake is still frozen and there is still snow on the ground though it is slowly melting away. Our time is soon, I think 🙂 Your flowers are magnificent and a generous thank you for the thoughtful supper invitation.. You are indeed blessed …
Andrea
Veronica
Hoping for a lovely warm week for you Andrea. 😀
Nancy @ A Rural Journal
Haha! Love the photo of your cat in the box — little dickens! And your flower bouquet is just lovely.
Veronica
Lol, thanks Nancy. I don;t know how, but that cat just manages to nail the pose every time. 😀
daryledelstein
milo is practicing his escape route .. sometimes harry races madly from one room to the other and back … sadly for him we have a very small apartment …
Sara v
Your cats are hilarious–isn’t it funny how they just seem to pick up on everything–they know you’re leaving, I’m sure that’s making them act a bit crazed, combined with sunshine and fruit blossoms–love fruit blossoms!! And that bouquet is AMAZING, wow. The cat in the box is too funny.
Veronica
They are hilarious, except it’s not funny when one decides to be mean to the other. What’s all that about? I think that may be the most photographed bouquet in the history of bouquets…lol. 😀
