Yesterday Morgan came in with a hitchhiker; a slug tangled in the long hair at the tip of her tail. Ugh. Ever try to detangle a slug from the tail of an ornery cat with razor blades for claws?
I mentioned to my friend Margot that I wanted to buy a slow cooker (again, after millions of years without), and she said not to because she was sure she had two and I was welcome to one of them. Thank you so much Margot, I’m loving it to pieces and so far made a most terrific stew, chili and chicken cacciatore.
I was just at my favourite book store, Booklovers, to find some books to take with me to Mexico. You know, the kind you don’t feel badly about leaving behind for the next holidayers, and the owner, Dalyce, handed me a Terry Pratchett Discworld book, which I immediately snapped up. I’ve read it several times already, but only have a copy in England. Obviously I need a copy here in Vancouver as well. I love Terry Pratchett books to pieces and, even though it may have been somewhat expected, I was immeasurably sad to hear of his passing yesterday. I’m sure that he’s now walking thru Discworld with his friend DEATH. Godspeed Sir Terry.
Many of my favourite bloggers are full speed decorating their homes for spring and I’m like…meh.
But I am getting some art done and finding tons of inspiration in my studio. π

Aren’t slugs repelled by salt? Or am I thinking of snails? Poor kitty.
Veronica
I think they both are.
That’s the thing, Morgan could care less if there’s a slug in her fur and she’s completely indignant about having her tail fur pulled (ever so gently) with a Kleenex. Darn cat!
Rose
I don’t even want to think of a snug being on one of my kitties, much less having to detangle it. I haven’t heard of the author, hope I can remember to check him out….I am not one to decorate for anything except Christmas, but I wish I did.
Veronica
Oh Rose, if you haven’t read any Pratchetts then I’m so jealous, you lucky girl. You get to discover his whole amazing universe! I believe that he is in the company of only a very few authors who have all their books being currently printed. π

I don’t envy you taking a slug out of that lovely cat’s tail. Before the Wonder Dog I had three beautiful cats with razor sharp claws and they never seemed to understand how an inquisitive pat with a paw could draw blood. Hope you have a lovely time in Mexico. Sounds like a great place to go right now. All the best, Bonny
Veronica
Thanks Bonny. I plan to have a lovely time in M. π Then I hope to get over to E after that.

hey! all those terry brooks books in the box next to Chloe X
Veronica
Yes! And they only cost a dollar or two! Look thru your stash if you have one or two missing, maybe Dalyce has a copy I could bring over. π Come to think of it, I haven’t reread the Magic Kingdom

Poor Morgan and poor you! I was sorry to hear about Pratchett also. I do like to look through books at the half-price store. I was looking at slow-cooker recipes this morning. Enjoy yours! Happy Friday!
Veronica
I’m making another batch of chili this morning! Love it. π

I hate slugs. My dog gets them tangled in his fur all the time! I just gave my slow cooker to my daughter, now that I am retired, I don’t use it.
Veronica
Did he really? I can see that. My malamutes loved to roll in just about anything, but I don’t remember having to detach slugs. Ugh! π

Oh yuck about the snail in the kitty tail. Hopefully you didn’t get scratched up taking it out. She sure is a pretty cat.
So glad you found some good books to read on your Vacation.
I am planning to spring decorate this weekend.
It’s good you are having fun with your art.

Such a fluffy beauty! Those purples in the spring shot are very pretty. I decorate for Passover. I still have snowflake window clings up as it is still winter. When the calender hits spring I will take them down and put up the spring ones. Slow cookers are wonderful. A lot of people use them for winter but I also like them for summer (which here starts now and lasts through Nov-Dec) as you can have a hot meal without heating up the kitchen. Bring me some sterling silver form mexico π That is when I like the Kindle-can take lots of books without having to worry about space and weight.
