Art challenge: Sanctuary

Well my dearest darlings, I harnessed all in my heart, but completely failed to paint myself a new sanctuary.
Some days…eh?

I wished I had taken photos along the way of the put together, painted, then ripped apart, then put together, then ripped apart again piece that this has become.

This is where it stands today:

untitled-4

Yup. Unbalanced, deeply dissatisfying, but honest. This is where our art challenge took me this week.

To make up for it, I’m offering you this little oil painting. A brief look into a sanctuary of gold in the distance.

untitled-2

Looks like I’m not ready for a new sanctuary, and my old one is still vital to me. 😀

Now it’s your turn. Can’t wait to see. You are all so inspiring to me.

these days will happen, and i believe the thing to rejoice about is your honesty. great art embraces the minor incidents. and then still. the eye of the beholder, hey?
    thxs for hosting.
    my post is a tad militant. i hadn’t expected that either! ;))) n x

Maybe your sanctuary is very new, new even for yourself, dear Veronica? And I can find something familiar to that one of 2011: the circles!
    Just like life is.
ThankX for hosting, Dear. I have struggled to find the right words (even in German, you know?) So I think sanctuary is hard to catch 😉
    Love, Ariane

there’s beauty in that rawness . . I love it.
I felt very much like this with one of my recent paintings, the chaos didn’t stop until I let go of trying to control it . . then it gentled. she wasn’t what i’d set out to create.. but she did grow on me. thank you for hosting, and for the lovely theme.

I agree with Ariane about sanctuary being hard to catch. This week was no sanctuary for me. More like a chicken running around in circles squawking as she goes.

I love the gold light, it´s just perfect.
And in fact, for me it was the perfect theme of an A.C., thank you so much!
And congats to your success in the art show!

Looks like it has been not easy for all of us, to catch and show this sanctuary. I too was more in need of one, than to create. But I love what you are sharing, Veronica. Aren’t these moments, when things are not going according to plan, aren’t these not the truly creative ones. Thank you for the invitation, dear. I have enjoyed searching for images. A lot. xo A.
