That “Wet Coast” kind of day
It’s been raining all day and that’s on top of yesterday’s rain and the day before, which will be followed by tomorrow’s rain and on thru the weekend.
Days like today I’m glad if I can be home girl.
I’m looking up at the mountains and thinking about the drenched trees standing tall and cold and black in the winter gloaming and imagining how the roots must sink a little deeper, closer to the warmth of the earth. How they hold on. How I sink a bit deeper into the warmth of my house. How we all hold on a bit tighter and spin around the sun waiting it out as we slowly inch our way closer for a little warmth.
cat looks great on that lovely chair!
Oh yes Esther, I think so too. That’s a chair in Chloe’s room and one of Morgan’s favorite places to sleep.
A lazy day i guess !!!
Yes Green, that’s too true. It’s good for the soul, don’t you think? 🙂
What gorgeous chair & cat pics!
Hi Irene, thank you. 🙂 Morgan’s a real chocolate box cat. I can’t stop taking photos of her.
Beautiful words. I burrow a little deeper into my pile of blankets just reading this.
Oh good Becca, I hope you’re all nice and snuggly. 🙂
Veronica, I absolutely love that description-roots reaching down for warmth, spinning closer–I used to live in Arcata, CA so I can reach back into my memory and conjure up a scene like the week you’re having. Eventually I got fed up and put on my raincoat to walk in it. I can only be inside for so long. 🙂 Enjoy the snuggling <3
Lol, Sara, I know the feeling and I’ve got wellies. There’s really no excuse. 🙂
I think I had better tell you something. The day I was reading this post and admiring the chair, earthquake happened in nearby area but we could still feel it in Hong Kong(not an active earthquake zone) and the chair I sat on was moving backward, i dont know how this relates but after reading your ‘flood’ situation. i just feel better to tell you this. Or be careful of falling off the chair?? i dont know.
