Rainy day…let it rain we say.
One thing’s for certain about April. One day it can balmy and warm and I’ll happily plant out little seedlings and the next day a massive windstorm blows in causing me to fear for their safety. Such a windstorm blew thru Vancouver this past Wednesday knocking out power for most of the day and playing havoc with the shallow rooted firs. And the windstorm has blown the clouds around and slammed them into the mountains where they gathered into a blackish-gray mass and it hasn’t stopped raining all day.
It’s ok we say. What do we care when we can play and nap and have tea.

Sometimes a day stuck indoors can be so much fun, for young and old alike. Xox

It’s so true Diane, sometimes there’s no better place to be. 🙂

I think Morgan had the right idea. Also, love the MUGS of tea!
Veronica
I think so too Michelle. She absolutely refused to have anything to do with outside today…lol. Those mugs are great, aren’t they? They are made in our neighbouring village in England at a little cottage business called Aston Pottery. The pieces are each hand thrown and then hand painted and sponge stenciled underneath the glaze and, even thought they make the same designs, each design is slightly different. I love the bird series but now I’ve bought almost all of the birds and will have to move on to the flower series. 🙂

We had a rain storm last night. It was so loud, I turned on the outside lights to see if it was hail. It wasn’t, only hard rain. Love the baby napping. Great photos, as always.
Veronica
Holy smokes Sabra, I know that kind of rain! Isla has a bit of a cold so she was being Velcro-baby and snuggling all day. She’s got that baby thing that when she falls asleep she somehow increases her weight 10x. Do you know what I mean?
Jo
OH such wonderful sweetness.
Veronica
Aw, thank you so much Jo. 🙂

My very best days are when I am indoors while storms rage outside. I live for such days. The pictures in this post are what family, rainy days, and being cozy are all about in all the best ways !
Veronica
Hi Kathy, Thank you so much, mine too. 🙂 Off to have another look at your precious Lucy Two-Hearts!
Catherine Llewellyn
my garden and i have been blessing the heavy rain over here in the uk – my poor parched grass and soil just opened its throat and drank and drank – maybe we’ll be able to plant grass seeds soon without having them blown away straight away – Veronica you have inspired me to step away from the Mac and get a nice steaming mug of tea, I’ll use one of those slant sided cream & green mugs 🙂 – love to you and your lovely companions X
Veronica
I’m so glad Catherine. 🙂 You have some fantastic mugs. I love those cream and green ones and always use them when I’m over. Miss you. X
Stephanie
I love those grape hyacinths you have in the bottles. It’s a perfect spring display!
Veronica
Hi Stephanie, they’re so fantastic, aren’t they? This year they’ve just gone crazy in my garden. Look at how long the stems are! 🙂
