A Sunny Side in the gloom of the West Coast

What could be better on a gloomy West Coast day than a cup of tea in the afternoon?
Chloe read about a new little tea shop not too far away from us. The Sunny Side tea shop is in the rainiest part of Vancouver, Deep Cove, a small town on the edge of Indian Arm, the only fjord in BC.

There are samples of all the lovely teas lined up in rows of small jars for us to smell and chose from.

We chose our teas and the proprietor brewed us a couple of mugs worth.

We were handed our tea in some beautiful locally handmade mugs.

Then we sat down with our tea on a little sofa against the window and looked around at the lovely shop.

It’s so warm and beautiful in here. The shelves are lined with lovely goods handmade by local artists.

On both sides of the room.

Also some carefully hand picked books and magazines, like this Kinfolk magazine.

After our tea, we walked across the street to this little boutique.

It’s the most amazing little place full of fun outdoor stuff.

And lovely gifties for Christmas! We loved this fun coaster.

This little boutique is a hit with C.

We have to come back here soon with our naughty and nice lists.

Next door is another lovely little boutique. This one is geared a little more perhaps towards me.

Except for these beautiful hand dyed wools.

I don’t knit and my crochet is pathetic, but C knits, and loved the warm, earthy tones.

This is more my style. And looks very much like the inside of my closet. 😀

This little boutique has so many beautiful things. I can see this will be a great stop on our Christmas shopping week.

And especially for prezzies for our little ones, Binky, Bunny and Ziggy.

Has everyone already thought of or even done their Christmas shopping? I’ve started to get organised, but just barely.

LOL, not sure there are any Joanne. That’s a good way to be, isn’t it? I know what you mean. I could easily have bought one of everything in these little shops. 😀

What a wonderful tea shop and you’re right with such a nasty weather outside the perfect place to be and enjoy. And sigh all the other fab things! Love them.

Oh that was so welcome on that cold, wet day. That’s the thing about here. It’s not that cold, but it’s so damp that the dampness goes right thru you.

What fun! A tea shop and then shopping. Great way to spend the day! I have started my holiday shopping. I have so many that need to be sent off. I hate to stand in line at the Post! I’ll be window shopping after most of my shopping is done, listening to Christmas music and looking at decorations. Fun post!

Aw, thank you so much Snap. I also hate standing around at the post office. And mailing prezzies costs a small fortune, don’t you think so? Especially internationally, which is practically all of my mail. 🙁

it would be dangerous for me to go into any of those shops … i haven’t even thought about hanukkah or christmas yet i only just got thanksgiving (under 2 wks away here) organized

It might just be dangerous for me to go back…lol. Good luck with the Thanksgiving. Here we’ve got a couple months between ours and Christmas so the turkeys are spaced more evenly throughout the season.

Hello Veronica, thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday.
The tea shop has a modern flare, and like you, I prefer the second shop too. Always a good idea to scout out the items in the stores for Christmas shopping.

True. For me it’s best to think about every purchase and not impulse buy. I tend to make mistakes impulse buying. Some great ideas for my list here though. 😀

I don’t knit but wish I did and love that photo of her fingering that beautiful yarn. ( I am reading “The Friday Night Knitting Club” a book from the library…that is affecting me as well, lol.

Thanks for taking me shopping with you. Those shops are so cute with many great things to admire (and buy!) Your first photo is beautiful and it sets the stage for visiting the shops really well, especially the visit to the tea shop.
