Hello from Sunday night
Hi everyone,
Happy Superbowl Sunday. Did you watch the game? Did you have a party?
We did round here. That is to say, we had the party, but we didn’t really watch the game. Football, as it turns out, is not really our thing. We watched the newest episode of Top Gear, and the movies A Girl Most Likely and Long Way Down. I read the book Long Way Down a couple summers ago and really loved it. The movie was fantastic. Actually, both the movies were fantastic, and Top Gear is always hilarious.
I did buy some cupcakes with the Seattle Sea Hawks logo though; actually for no other reason except that we like Seattle. 😀
It’s been a most uneventful Sunday round here and that was really good because our Friday and Saturday were a bit of a nightmare. Morgan has become such a sickly cat lately, and has developed some kidney/bladder condition which necessitated an overnight vet stay. Well, over the night she managed to rip out one of her claws and in the morning no one could get close to her. So I came in and calmed her down, and just as she was calm enough for a urine sample, she freaked out and got me with her remaining claws. Two deep gashes, one on each of my wrists. My poor little cat. She got a couple injections, some more medicine, and I took her home Saturday morning and closed her in my bedroom, where she was nice and calm all day and over night. She’s much better today.
Enough drama round here!
But nothing that a little retail therapy can’t fix. 😀
Sharing with Judith and the mosaic bunch. 😀

Poor Morgan. Wishing her well. And you too, of course, with your gashes.
Veronica
Thank you so much Debra. Thinks are better today. Hopefully we’re on top of all her health issues. 😀

Ouch! For your hand. And poor Morgan suffering so. I had the game on last evening but am not a sports fan. I was rooting for the Patriots as they are east coast and so am I, and that’s the only reason! 🙂 Sorry your team lost. It was a close game. You have so many beautiful and colourful paintings in your home. Happy Groundhog Day. Blizzard warnings for us today and tonight. Again!!
Veronica
Thank you so much Pamela. My wrists are healing well and Morgan is much better (fingers crossed).
Actually we’re not football fans round here. Hockey, yes, football, yawn…lol. If I had thought about it, I probably would have bought the Patriot cupcakes because one of C’s Victoria Secrets model Giselle is married to one of the footballers, isn’t she? LOL, but what do I know.
Stay warm out East Pamela!

That was a lovely way to start the day. Is there an Anthropologie in Vancouver? How did I miss that – if so, I will be THERE on my next visit.
I am so sorry that your little Morgan is so poorly and that you are a casualty of her illness.
Thank you so very much for your kind comments/note. Someone who has been through ‘it’ knows what it’s like. It means a lot.
Veronica
My heart is always with you dearest.
There are actually TWO Anthros in Van. Depending on which way you cross, one on Granville st, Vancouver proper, and the second is in West Van, Park Royal South. 😀

Your party sounds wonderful but so distressing to read about your cat….
Pepper and Chester send their love.
Hope that your week is off to a great start.
Veronica
Thank you so much Hostess. We had a lovely afternoon/evening doing nothing but cuddling Morgan and Milo and watching fabulous movies. Some days that’s as it should be. It is so very distressing to watch Morgan go from illness to illness. I hope we’ve got the majority of her weaknesses under control now. Both my cats were rescued young cats form a dangerous situation of 39 animals in the home of a hoarder, so, coming from that situation, it’s not possible to know their full health history beforehand. Milo, on the other hand, is the most robust little bruiser, who streaks thru the house and garden sniggering, “I am the night!” 😀

Thank you to visit my blog!
Veronica
My pleasure. I’ve only just discovered your blog, but like it very much. 😀

Poor Morgan, I am glad she is feeling better.. I do not watch football but I did want the Seahawks to win. 🙁
Lovely images, except for the bandage hand, I hope you have healed.. Have a happy week ahead!

Your party sounds very nice and your home looks really cosy and welcoming.
And of course your tulip bouquet is lovely! 🙂
I hope both you and Morgan are feeling much better now!

What can I say? We don’t watch football and we didn’t party either. I did manage to soak up some sun and go for a swim yesterday and I foresee some retail therapy on the horizon. 🙂
Poor kitty, hope she gets better soon and that your wrists are not too ghastly looking.
Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday Veronica.

My husband watches the game, and I watch the commercials….I did not want the Patriots to win so I am not a happy camper this Monday…but your treats look yummy and cozy.
Veronica
I know what you mean Donna. 😀 My eyes glaze over after about two minutes of football.

Hi Veronica,
Well, you almost had me there for a minute, thinking you and Chloe were actually enduring, ahem, watching, the Superbowl!;). Sorry to hear about your scratch session with Morgan, but am glad she’s better. Your home always looks so inviting and cozy.
Wishing you a wonderful week!

poor you … and poor Morgan .. so dreadful to have to be at the vet and the indignity of urine sampling … glad all of you are on the mend
