Started the day with Milo coming for a cuddle. Made a cup of tea and drank it while exploring waves of morning sunlight on the curtains and seedpods. Morgan checking out a new haul of baskets. I love those two to the left. These two make four in my collection. Can you believe that baskets are 50 cents at the thrift stores? I caught a ray of sunshine on the patio this afternoon, made spaghetti Bolognese for supper, and Milo has developed this habit of hiding under the flowers until I get too close and then does a mad streak in front of me and across the lawn sniggering, “I am the night!” What is he like? 😀

Next to your fire grate … is that a birdcage filled with fairy lights? Intrigued by the beauty …
I love thrifted baskets too, have found some gems!

Hello there Molly. That is a string of “cold” Ikea fairy lights which have red, yellow and white plastic flowers around them. (another thrifted find…don’t you love it?) Sometimes they hang out on the mantle but right now they’re in the birdcage. I tend to have them on all the time because they cost next to nothing and give off enough light at night that when someone comes in late, they don’t kill themselves tripping over furniture. 🙂

Good bits in it Dawn, some bad bits, but I try my best to focus on the good bits because I can get incredibly “life’s not worth it…someone shoot me now-ish”. So good bits only. 🙂

not a red meat eater but that looks delish … i would be a collector like you if only i had the room ….

Oh Daryl, I would be a collector like me if I had the room too…sigh. These days things have to be absolutely practical and fit in someplace specific or, no matter how cheap or lovely, they can’t come home.

Oooooo! Love the light on the curtain edges–looks like magic 🙂 Thank you for the laugh about Milo–and Morgan makes me laugh just by looking at the attitude in her face…too funny!

I know! Those two make me laugh all the time. 😀 You should see how insulted Milo gets if you call to him before he’s ready to do his mad dash…lol.

Milo is quite the cat. It always unnerves me when our cats make mad dashes in front of me. I’m afraid they’ll one day trip me big time. Loved your pretty flowers out front.
