Friday random. It’s where my head’s at these days.

I’m sorry I’ve been hiding these past few of days.

But here I am, back in the light.

So is Morgan. She loves to sit on the dining room window sill and grin menacingly at the squirrels until they feel flustered and have to go away.

This cat’s so weird…in a fantastic feline way.

She likes to bring things to the back door. Right now it’s leaves. The bigger the better. These are off the grape vine in the side garden. Then she lines the leaves up for display. What’s that all about?

We have a lovely visiting student with us. Mei from Japan. She’s only here for a one week tour and she’s made us supper yesterday. (she said she was practising for it…so sweet)

She’s used these ingredients (only two of which I recognised as soy and rice vinegar) and made a wonderful potato, carrot, onion, beef dish with rice balls. She also brought a Japanese cook book for me as a prezzy. I wonder if I’ll find this recipe in there, it was yummy. But honestly, I was thinking that I might just wing it.

Chloe is 10 weeks into her 13 week semester and sometimes the pressure is a bit much. She’s not doing mornings too well these days.

C morning

So I bought her a now coat! She really loves the Anthro-Bohemian look and I like to be inventive, so this coat fits the bill. It also fit my bill because it was thrifted for about $5! Honestly, the way C falls in love with clothes and then, just as quickly out of love with them, this is the most sensible way.

C and Bryson just found out that their friend is expecting a baby! Yikes! They’re excited and scared for her at the same time. Not sure what I think. Looking at C she seems so very young, but then, by the time I was her age I already had one plus one on the way. The choices we make are staggering sometimes, aren’t they?

Neat random thoughts. It seems you have a lot to be thankful for in your life. I loved the pictures of the bright colorful leaves in the top of your post. I live in South Florida and the changing seasons are not that dramatic. Very cool post!

So much talent in that household that even the pets are artists!

Morgan is beautiful! My cats are more apt to leave a path of destruction behind…well, not so much now that they are older. But will still find a torn up roll of toilet paper every now and then. That is a nice coat for $5….

This is awesome – the red of the curtain and of the foliage and the cat!
Yes, cats are mysterious (just Sphinx) and my also has its specific rituals, I do not always understand … But I love it for this.
    Have a great weekend 🙂

Does he? You must write about your cat’s rituals sometime, I’d love to read that. 🙂

You’ve got some gorgeous leaves there outside your window… no wonder the kitty wants to collect them. 🙂

Thanks Nancy, That tree is pretty spectacular. I’m lucky it came with the house. 🙂

  • Reply Ida P. Krause November 8, 2013 at 3:37 pm

What a view Morgan the kitty has of that divine tree and of course squirrels. What is it with cats and squirrels.
Too funny about her and lining up the leaves.
Your daughter looks a bit stressed…mornings can do that if you want to sleep-in.
    Cool looking coat.

    • Reply Veronica November 8, 2013 at 7:48 pm

Hi Ida, that cat of mine is hilarious. I don’t think she’d ever be capable of getting a squirrel. Those leaves, what’s that all about? At last it’s not dead birds or mice or something.

  • Reply Catherine November 9, 2013 at 12:22 pm

Really lovely photos! The leaves are such a nice colour in the photo with your cat looking out of the window! That is funny that the cat lines up the leaves 🙂 I love animals!

    • Reply Veronica November 10, 2013 at 6:57 am

I know Catherine, strange habit she has. There’s more leaves outside this morning. 🙂

  • Reply Diane November 9, 2013 at 3:26 pm

Great red leaves. If I were a cat I would sit there too and enjoy the view. 🙂

    • Reply Veronica November 10, 2013 at 6:55 am

They are great, aren’t they? I must admit to staring at them once in a while myself. 🙂

  • Reply Daryl November 11, 2013 at 9:13 am

clearly morgan is a creative cat …

  • Reply Kate North November 17, 2013 at 10:44 pm

Bit behind in my blog reading (and everything else,I think!) but wanted to say I love that maple tree – what a great thing to have outside your window… As for Morgan, if what you are being brought is leaves, I’d consider yourself lucky. It sure beats dead (or live) mice, frogs, or as my grandparents’ cat, when they lived on a farm with a stream, used to bring: almost dead fish flopping around on the doorstep!
