Hello from Sunday night

Today’s been one of those lovely Sundays where there was no hurry and nothing urgent to do.

The sun came out in the morning but by noon the clouds rolled in again.

Yesterday we had an entertaining time watching Morgan and Milo trying to get in on C’s friendship bracelet threads.

Those cats get so obsessed over threads and bits of string. πŸ˜€

But today I had sleeping cats and time on my hands. I started a few new pieces of art on old paper and finished this one.

A little marsh tit on a dictionary page with the word harbinger on it. I like that thought, a harbinger of spring; although I’m not sure this little bird qualifies, I still love waking up to bird song. The bird song in Vancouver pales in comparison to Northmoor, but still there are chickadees and mourning doves and all sorts of twittering things. And, especially flickers drumming out their territory on the neighbour’s metal chimneys at 5am. They always make me laugh. πŸ˜€

Welcome to Sunlit Sunday, Veronica. Aside from this post, with the ethereal artwork, I did a bit of exploring around your blog and found gorgeous floral paintings with lush, vibrant colour. Also, I very much enjoyed reading the “About” section.

I take it your life is rich with creativity.

    Hi Veronica,

Your cats are so cute!! I love the picture of the one cat wrapped up in the string. πŸ˜€ They simply must check out everything going on around them, right? I hear you about the Flickers tapping on the chimneys. πŸ™‚ We have the big Red-bellied Woodpeckers here, and they do the same thing. They really are interesting birds.

I love your artwork! I think I’m ready for a harbinger of Spring. Your bird sketch looks like a Blue Tit. I saw those when I visited England with my husband years ago. Thank you for visiting my blog and taking time to leave a comment — hope you have a good week!

Your cat did finally get the strings from her friendship braclet. Very nice bird on a page of Harbinger. I too love to hear the small feathery friends, lately a neighbour has left his garbage exposed and I hear the early morning caw of crows.

Your cat is hilarious, especially with all of the string wrapped around it!

Your little marsh tit is delightful. I like how the words subtly peer through its body!

The comment you left on my blog about your Vancouver cats and mice “cracked me up”! Thanks for visiting.

    Happy week to you!

    Hi Veronica,

What a lovely, lazy Sunday, partly cloudy, (love those clouds), very feisty (your felines), with the talented Chloe, and her creative mommy documenting all the fun!

Have a wonderful week, my friend!:-D

The perfect sort of Sunday. I wish I could express myself as you do, with your art. It’s such a pleasure to look at what you’ve done.
I thought of one of your along-the-river posts as I drove off the ferry last night and along River Road in the pounding rain. I wouldn’t have wanted to be on the river last night!

    Hello Veronica,
The photos of the sun shining into your apartment, illuminating the floors, are beautiful. We didn’t have sun here on the Island on Sunday, just more rain, like today. Things should be clearing up later in the week.
Your artwork is really lovely – birdsong is a great way to wake up.
Your cats look very playful and fun.
