Veronica and the blustery day
The kinds of windstorms I have here on the West Coast pale in comparison to the windstorms I get in Oxfordshire, but a windy day is something to be celebrated anyway, so off to the beach we will go.
Just up on the verge the brave little crocuses grow short and hug the ground. The wind is not their playmate.
But it is mine. I love to feel the wind on my cheeks and in my hair. I love to hear the crash of the waves.
I have lots of company and fellow wind lovers on the beach today.
The wind gives me a mustache…
…and places lots of treasures in my path.
The wind whips up medusa tendrils…
…and crashes waves into the pier.
All in good fun

Such lovely beach pics, Veronica. I love the ones of your hair flying.
Veronica
Hi Irene. Sometimes I wonder why I put up with two feet of hair but most times I love the way it feels…especially in the wind. 🙂 (Brushing it out after is another story)
Sabra Bowers
I enjoy the beach in cool weather. Enjoyed this walk with you.
Veronica
Thank you Sabra. I love to take you with me. 🙂

Hi Sue, I’m so happy you left your addy because now I can come visit you in blustery Michigan. 🙂 Don’t you love that word “blustery”?
Angela
looks like you had a lovely trip to the beach, and who doesn’t love a good wind moustache 🙂
Veronica
Lol, Angela, I definitely and absolutely live for one. 🙂

Beautiful in word and image… my favorite is the one with all the little “treasures;” it evokes so many happy moments on many different beaches. A lovely essay, Veronica – thank you for sharing!

Hello again Pat, I’m so glad you stopped by and left me a comment. beach combing for treasures is the best, isn’t it? How’s the star gazing? You must have had high excitement with the meteors! 🙂 I wish I knew more about space exploration.

Hi Veronica! Love those crocus–brilliant violet in verdant green with the sun shining through…lovely. Not a fan of the wind, myself. Hate eating my own hair…and having sand-blasted eyes…love watching it while sitting inside with a cup of tea, though. And there was that one time that we stood on the bluffs of No. Cal and felt the storm smash the waves against the cliff–the ground was shaking and the spray was hitting us in the face from the force of the impact. Mother Nature reminding us, who’s really boss. 😉 Glad that you know how to play with the wind, your photos were very fun!

Hi, really felt the bluster! I lived in Vancouver when I was wild and free and twenty and thought I knew everything. I knew I loved that place, but had to return to Scotland as my visa ran out… but I have very fond memories of Kitsalano, where I shared a house with a few misfits… 🙂
